We will discuss Accounting Basics 101: What are asset, liability and equity accounts?  When should I use an income or expense account?  What is the difference between cash and accrual basis accounting?  How will the accounts I use affect my financial statements? And, how do I set up a new company in QuickBooks?

0102: The Income Cycle 
We will discuss setting up items and how to create a Sales Receipt or Invoice, and which form should be used and why?  How do you set up customers and jobs?  Once you invoice a customer, how do you receive their payments and make a deposit?  Can you send monthly statements as reminders?  What are the best reports to run to show outstanding amounts due? How can you easily find the history regarding a particular invoice?

0103: The Expense Cycle 
We will discuss setting up vendors and record the many different types of transactions related to company expenses.  You will also learn how to enter bills, pay bills, and write checks, record debit card transactions, record credit card charges, record automatic bank drafts and other miscellaneous charges.  You will also learn how to memorize transactions as a time saver for future entries.

We will discuss the reconciliation process for bank accounts as well as how to reconcile credit card accounts.  We will review the numerous report options within QuickBooks and preview many standard reports.  You will learn how to modify reports to change the data displayed, use filters and other useful tools, including memorizing reports for future use.  We will review how to set up reminders within your QuickBooks file and will end by demonstrating how to create a backup of your company file.
